Stephen Chu is a Chartered Professional Accountant and a Certified General Accountant in Canada. He is a fellow member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants in UK and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
Stephen was employed as an auditor with Price Waterhouse during 1982-1984 in Hong Kong. He has more than 40 years management experience in accounting and auditing positions with various multi-national companies and Fortune 500 corporations in Hong Kong and Canada.
Stephen’s areas of expertise include Auditing, Taxation, Financial Accounting and Management Accounting. He has provided accounting, tax and advisory services to small businesses in Canada since 1994.
Stephen’s professional involvement includes serving as an assignment marker for CGA Ontario students, as well as an examination invigilator for CGA Ontario.
He was the President of the Mississauga Chinese Business Association during 2008 to 2012. He is now the advisor for the organization.
He was one of the team leaders of the China Trade Mission 2010. 3 Mayors from GTA joined the Mission, including Mayor Hazel McCallion (Mississauga), Mayor Dave Barrow (Richmond Hill) and Mayor Linda Jackson (Vaughan).
He was one of the team leaders of the China Trade Mission 2012. 6 Mayors/Deputy Mayors from GTA join the Mission, including Mayor Frank Scarpitti (Markham), Mayor Susan Fennel (Brampton) and Mayor Rob Burton (Oakville).
He was the recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal Award in 2012.
